Paul Pillar on WJ right now....
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 09:30 AM by Viva_La_Revolution
Cheney's week just got worse!

on edit:
Discussing the intelligence leading to war.

Pillar has come out saying that the whole concept of War on Terror is flawed.

Paul Pillar talks about U.S. intelligence policy and the war in Iraq. Mr. Pillar was the CIA National Intelligence Officer for Near East and South Asia from 2000-2005. In a recent article in Foreign Affairs, he argues that during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration disregarded the intelligence community's expertise, politicized the intelligence process, and selected unrepresentative raw intelligence to make its public case. He responds to telephone calls and electronic mail.

better? It's one of those stories we missed while being occupied with CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE. carry on.

4. Article about Paul Pillar
Ex-CIA Official Faults Use of Data on Iraq
Intelligence 'Misused' to Justify War, He Says
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/09/AR2006020902418.html

The former CIA official who coordinated U.S. intelligence on the Middle East until last year has accused the Bush administration of "cherry-picking" intelligence on Iraq to justify a decision it had already reached to go to war, and of ignoring warnings that the country could easily fall into violence and chaos after an invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein.

Paul R. Pillar, who was the national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia from 2000 to 2005, acknowledges the U.S. intelligence agencies' mistakes in concluding that Hussein's government possessed weapons of mass destruction. But he said those misjudgments did not drive the administration's decision to invade.

CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE? No! Do tell! I can't imagine CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE. Whatever could be the excuse for CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE? It sounds so odd that there's a report of CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE. Has it been in the news that there's an account of CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE? What was the reaction to CHENEY SHOOTING A 78 YEAR OLD MAN IN THE FACE?

24. Well, it must be true, then, if someone said it.
I say that I'm on a beach in Maui right this moment......

Okay, why didn't it work for me?! No fair!

The caller is such a moran. Someone should send him an old Soviet-written history book (translated into first grade level English) and ask if he believes what's in it simply because it's in print. Sheesh.
