5. That's a good question.
Chris Matthews on Hardball, so know because of his prediliction for Clairol Sunny Blonde and his large head. As for the "journalist" descriptor, he plays one on teevee.

6. Chris Matthews, Hardball MSNBC
I wouldn't call him a journalist, he's a RW pundit.

12. I can see how it would be amazing. I saw references to him
numerous times, of course, and picked up that he was a journalist entertainer on a cable station. I don't get cable. From my fellow DU people, I gather I'm not missing much.

10. No, he is not a journalist!
He's an entertainer on MSNBC. Not very good though.

He's also a Democrat according to newsmeat, though his campaign contributions are old and smallish.

Chris Matthews started to been referred as "Tweety" by the now defunct media criticism site "Media Whores Online."

According to "Media Whores Online," it was reported that producers and assistant production crew from his show "Hardball" on MSNBC started calling him "Tweety" a few years ago, because Matthews dyes his hair blonde in a very obvious, poor, and bad way. It's very obvious and strident.

That's where "Tweety" comes from: his own crew snickering at him on his back.

14. Thank you for asking.
I too didn't know who Tweety was. Many here who watch cable TV stations such as CNN, Faux News, etc., don't always realize that others do not and may miss some of their references. It took me some time to find out who Turdblossom was as well. It doesn't hurt if every now and then posters put the actual name of the party being discussed in parentheses to keep us all on the same page.

Perhaps we need an occasional thread or a FAQ that lists the origin of terms such as Tweety, Moran, etc.
