I don't believe he does, but that's what he's saying, and that's what the press is harping on. Did he or did he not have the authority? I cry HORSES--T, it makes no difference!

He outed a CIA agent's identity and shut down her entire network that was tracking WMDs around the globe!! There can BE no possible good reason for doing that. It's TREASON, for crying out loud!! You can't "spin" that!

Cheney's spurious defense is akin to saying that he had the authority to sell nuclear secrets to Libya if he wanted to. And maybe he does. But would doing so be treason? Absolutely!

Dick Cheney is a traitor to this nation and should be punished accordingly. It sickens and saddens me that none of our bogus American news media will not go near that, which is really the heart of the "controversy"--not whether he had the authority to reveal classified information or not.

1. Because the question is not if he did it (he did), or why he did it (which
may be difficult to prove), but that what he did was AGAINST THE LAW.

3. I agree with you...
He is a traitor and should be prosecuted!!

The media...when Rove can call the media and make them change their stories (the few that they report accurately) there is some blackmail or something else going on there!!

5. He can't release classified information
He was given the power to DEclassify information, but it still has to be declassified before its released!
