He's playing "Mother Night" for the Republicans, and always has. I swore before Felt that Liddy was Deep Throat.

Basically, His job is to make the Republicans look like the nutjobs they are by being the Bull Moose nutjob.

Liddy was actually a good friend of Hunter S Thompson as well
