H&R Block blunder exposes consumer data |
|
http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6016720.htmlSome consumers may be dismayed to find their Social Security numbers printed on unsolicited packages from H&R Block, the result of a recent labeling blunder at the company.
(snip)
Yet H&R Block said the risk of identity theft based on the incident is low because the Social Security numbers are hidden in a long string of characters and aren't formatted like Social Security numbers with dashes between numbers. Sigh.

H&R Blockheads had better take responsibility for this. Big-time. It's unfair ot their customers, to say the very least.
