Amendment II Democrats webmaster Daniel Barnett has announced that, in light of the recent accidental shooting by Vice-President Dick Cheney of GOP contributor Harry Whittington, he is offering to help the Vice-President by offering to pay up to $100 for the Vice-President to attend a firearms safety class.

The shooting incident marks the first time that a sitting Vice-President of the United States of America has shot someone since Vice-President Aaron Burr shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804.

It is important that the current Vice-President reassure the American people that he is committed to promoting and practicing sane and sensible gun use and gun safety measures. It is in this spirit that Mr. Barnett makes this offer to the Vice-President in order to help him reinforce his own safe gun handling skills.

The offer is non-transferrable and will expire on 11:59 PM EST on February 28, 2006 if unclaimed. The $100 offer will be paid to the facility offering the class, which is to be determined by mutual agreement between the Vice-President and Mr. Barnett. All other terms are dictated at the discretion of Mr. Barnett unless otherwise specified.
