Cheney's claim of right to declassify information
might well be legal if in fact it occurred butand it is a HUGE but...

If he did not disclose to Fitz that he had done so in this particular instance with regard to Plame He might still be indicted for obstruction...and perjury...

More so....he will have lost a lot of credibility with the RW. First for the outing and then for the effectively lying about it for the last two years and hurting the moron.

GOP presidential aspirants will call for him to resign.

1. The RW will pat him on the back, OUR rallying around Plame
has turned her into a member of the rebellion in their eyes. She is someone to be purged from influence, someone who deserved to be outed.

Its an election year. 6 year itch. He might not get a Robertso...but Hagel and McCain and Gingrich will light him up....There is no downside...

The input from the originating agency is still required, and if the CIA is in the business of declassifying their agents for purely political reasons then there are going to be a lot of empty slots in the agency.

5. It is my understanding that the President can only "Classify" something
NOT declassify!!!
