Why Does CNN Need to go to the Smoking Gun for OFFICIALLY RELEASED DOCs?
Don't they have their OWN servers?

They just showed on the Situation Room GOING to the Smoking Gun website... I know it's great for the Smoking Gun, but aren't these documents available to CNN directly?

7. Because they are too cheap to have their own investigators
and too lazy.. They just have their young interns "surf the net" and put it on the air:(

9. Some documents are easier to find than others
Smoking Gun is brilliant at what they do. Keeping an eye on them is a lot easier than replicating all their work. CNN COULD just print the docs out and pretend they found it themselves.

When you have a bunch of stories breaking all the time, having a resource like SG is a great thing. Heck, I've gotten leads off LBN here...there's a lotta stuff out there, and only 24 hours in a day.
