1. But the good ol' boys running the state of Texas... |
|
...have already said that no charges are going to be brought against Cheney, that it was an "accident," so while we keep one eye on this the economy still sucks, Bush is rubbing himself at the prospect of a military strike against Iran, and...well, let's just say that NOTHING...IS...GOING...TO...HAPPEN...TO...CHENEY.
The hooks of evil are sunk too deep.
This will blow over and Cheney will walk away without a frigging scratch.

3. Telling America to Get Cheney'd |
|
And this is exactly the way they've been treating the Congress and the entire country for 5 years. They do whatever they want because they think they're above the law and tell us to get Cheney'd, just like they did to Texas.

One of the worst of their administration. A criminal investigation may not help us at all..

7. I can only base my thoughts on what I've seen so far... |
|
...despite ALL of the headlines, the Plame affair, the Diebold machines, Abramoff, Iraq...where has Bush taken a hit?
REALLY...name some LOSSES.
OK, his Social Security scheme never got off the ground, and "Tax Reform"...passing the burden from his "base" to the middle class...may never happen.
Maybe Harriet Miers was a red herring. Maybe he nominated her so that his "base" would WET ITSELF over Scalito (they did, by the way).
So he got Roberts and Scalito on the Supreme Court...a "legacy" that will FAR outlast his "presidency"
Rumsfeld still has a job.
Condi is Secretary of MOTHERF**KING STATE, for GOD'S sake.
The Patriot Act looks like it will get extended.
The agenda keeps' on a-rollin', Stretch.
The "damage" will be shrugged off and Bush will keep doing whatever the hell he wants to do.

9. They've tried to use the same spin techniques they have for years |
|
in a situation where its inappropriate. This is a personal matter they should have been personal with the public. It damages their credibility and shows their true character. Even conservatives (including a church friend of mine) are wondering why things just don't feel right. Be patient and watch for the next approval #'s.

it perfectly illustrates their POV and their MO. it provides a window for people who can't wrap their minds around complex, distant issues. it's just too revealing. people do get it.

8. He still missed an important one. |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 09:00 PM by Sparkly
He got Armstrong's change to an "eyewitness," but it was initially reported that she said Cheney et al did NOT know she called her pal -- she said she figured it was going to become news quickly anyway...
THAT is among the biggest lies of this whole thing, in my view. There is no WAY they decided together that she should break this story to a local paper. They'd have issued a VERY carefully-worded written statement, not sent some unknown person (and NOT an eyewitness) to phone a buddy and say whatever.

Cheney chose Armstrong to make the report, once he realized it was going to get out anyway. and he brought Matalin in to craft the message. Armstrong was Cheney's handmaiden on this one. she did as she was asked.

14. Here's why I disagree. |
|
It was way too sloppy. If this were planned, she'd have claimed from the start that she was an eyewitness (not that she saw people running and thought Cheney had a heart attack); she'd have claimed from the start that Cheney was in on the "decision" to phone the local paper; and she'd have claimed from the start that there was no alcohol involved.
I think she would have made a better handmaiden as a backup witness, not as the person to actually break the story and answer questions without their control.

Keith covered the Election FRAUD for a few weeks in 2004, and guess what happened? Still thinking?
Enjoy this little diversion. Story over. Next!
Cheney could kill a few people, and he would still get away with it. They are above the law.
