A sudden revelation: Why Cheney didn't go to the hospital...."
As I was driving into town this morning, I tuned into Air America Radio. Al Franken was on, and he was discussing the Crack-Shot Cheney case.

He was commenting, with disgust, how Cheney didn't go with Mr. W. as he was taken to the hospital. Even after Whittington was in the hospital (in the ICU, no less) Cheney never went to visit him. Al's guest was mystified, also. They just couldn't figure out how a "caring" friend would just leave him there and fly back to Washington DC. And yet Cheney was "shaken, upset" on Fox yesterday, and said it was "the worst day of my life".

Now here's a thought.....what if Whittington didn't survive the shooting? What if he isn't in the hospital, cheerful, flirting with the nurses, working in the ICU etc etc. Why haven't we seen any photos of him? Why hasn't the family said anything?

THAT would explain why Cheney kept the whole thing quiet for so long. THAT would also explain why he never went to the hospital. After all, the entire country is watching him, with disgust.

9. Thanks, Fooj. I will do
just that.

Also, do we have any DU:ers who know someone who works in that hospital? This web site has an incredibly long reach.

Maybe someone knows someone who might just have the scoop and can tell us..........

3. If Cheney was obviously drunk at the time ...
... which seems to be the general consensus, hospital workers would have seen his condition - which leaves the possibility that one of them, or a number of them, could have said so to the media.

And if Whittington dies, hospital personnel will undoubtedly be interviewed, and perhaps deposed under oath.

Fewer witnesses, fewer chances for the truth to come out ...

5. Exactly!
Parading a drunken Darth Cheney around in front of potential future witnesses with medical training would have been a big no no. It is odd that there is no pictures of Whittington in his hospital bed. A smiling and peacefully recuperating Whittington picture would certainly help Cheney at this point. It is very strange and it leaves the "Mr. W. has been dead for a while" theory looming large on the table of options.

13. He was shot in the face, remember?
Surely he doesn't want his picture taken.

14. Yes, that's a very good point.
At this point, we should give it a week. If we still have no photos, or no family members reporting on W., we should be very suspicious.

4. Dick Morris thinks Cheney was drunk.
Compared it to Chappaquiddick. Hannity was astounded that Morris could think such a thing.

inhales Jell-O cubes or blows a cerebral aneurysm or something just before the Friday Night News Dump???

12. Except that if he is really James Baker's bro-in-law my guess is
some inquiring mind would have figured that one out by now. Then again that camp of the White House seems pretty peeved.

15. Better explanation... he was avoiding a photo op. PR trumps friendship.
His greater concern is with avoiding looking like a reckless imbecile; not with consoling a hurt friend.
