Ever seen the rules at Falwell's "University"?
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 10:23 PM by pstokely
People actually pay to go here. They actually expect students to follow these rules off-campus and during breaks. How do they enforce these rules then?

I am sorry to say it as it is, but I watched a show about Fanny Hamer last night, and I am rather feisty. Look at that. No further comment, except thanks, and you are absolutely right. And perspicacious.

except where such student is determined to be African-American by a committee established by the Dean of Negro Students, in which case the hair may remain black. All hair, however, must be straight or mildly wavy, with no exceptions.

4. I read it:
I love the part about demostrations etc. How this prison camp atmosphere is in anyway about Liberty is a joke. Liberty U. is an oxymoron! Fascists U is more like it. Jerry Falwell is a fat fascist fraud and his schooli s just another example of the hypocrisy that is so much a part of the tight little world these assklowns inhabit.

10. This is an excellent argument for a ban on ALL religious schooling.
These places are ANTI American, and in the WORST possible way.

I'll pull out a long-held, deeply-buried belief of mine: religious schooling should be OUTLAWED.

Not just banned, not just stopped, but in fact CRIMINALIZED.

13. This is extremely mild compared to Bob Jones!
The men there must west a shirt and tie to class, and the female students are NEVER permitted to wear pants of any kind.

I was also surprised there was no "fraternization" statements there. BJ says there will be NONE on campus!

I used to live about 5 miles from BJ. It's a beautiful campus, but my neighbor across the street was a student there. He was a nice enough young guy, but always seemed like he never recognized the real world! I laughed MAO when his 16 year old sister got pregnant while in HS. She got married, but I moved shortly after that and have no idea if it lasted!

39. No!!!!
That photo is from the conference championship in which the school I would attend, High Point, lost by 45 points to "Liberty". I hate that we regularly have two right-wing extremist schools that come to our campus often, "Liberty" and VMI, which are in our athletic conference. I find it funny that Falwell blamed 9/11 on feminists, when Title IX is what lead to women's basketball becoming mainstream, in which "Liberty" has dominated our conference.

How any Falwell school can be accredited beats me.

Lord knows, Falwell, Liberty thinking big in football

Of all the fires Jerry Falwell has started with his mouth, this nugget might be among the more incendiary

refuse to die," the famous televangelist told SportsLine.com this week, "until we get this done."

What, a 900-foot Jesus? More fundamentalist doctrine?

No. Football. Falwell, 72, wants to preside over a Division I-A football program in his lifetime. A big-time D-I program, one that could take the field against Notre Dame some day on even terms.

27. "guidelines for suicidal thoughts"
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 10:43 PM by JohnnyRingo
...or if your parents wont let you drop out

Student / Staff Course of Action

As a student, if I find myself or another student in crisis and/or experiencing suicidal thoughts and desire immediate counseling, I should contact my Resident Assistant (RA), Resident Director (RD), Dean (Dean of Women/Men) or Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) personally or by phone.

Based on the point of contact, the following steps will occur:

The RA will contact the RD.
The RD will contact the Dean.
The Dean will contact a licensed professional (at Liberty University) and will also contact LUPD for transport to Lynchburg General Hospital, if necessary.

Note: This expense will be covered by the student’s insurance or by the student.

Never mind...it's too late now

The Powerball, mind you, one of the things I would do with the money would be to fund dozens or hundreds of fake (LIBERAL) students to Liberty and BJ, full ride, with the EXPRESS purpose of causing as much disruption as possible.

I would send people there with the express purpose of shutting them down.

Schools like these do not have any right to exist.

36. Some rules to consider before you sign up
"Direct disobedience/disrespect": If you ask a question that a professor can't answer, then will you get reprimanded for "disrespect"?

"Entering the space above ceiling tiles": What does that mean?

"Participation in an unauthorized petition or demonstration":
Are we back in the Liberty USSR? Keeping your comrade warm will also get you a reprimand.

"Association with those consuming alcohol": Jesus would have to pay $250?

"Involvement with witchcraft, séances or other occultic activities"
Is it okay to read Harry Potter?

37. "Entering the space above ceiling tiles"
Okay, I think I figured it out. Somebody climbed up to the ceiling, pushed some ceiling tiles out of the way and climbed into that space. Now they've got a rule against doing that.

Why is there no rule against "Standing on your head during class"?

How about a rule against "Hopping to class on one foot even though there's nothing wrong with your other foot or leg"?
