Rahm might not be through courting Hackett
A phrase in this item on one of today's gossip pages caught my eye.

snip>
The respective parties’ congressional committees took no break from their election-year bitterness on Valentine’s Day, as they exchanged sarcasm-laden greetings Tuesday.

Referring to as-yet-unsuccessful efforts by Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) to get Iraq war vet Paul Hackett to run for the House after he bowed out of the Ohio Senate race, GOP spokesman Carl Forti quipped, “Perhaps Rahm Emanuel should redouble his efforts and send Paul Hackett cheesecake, flowers and a card asking him to ‘Be my candidate.’”

"...as-yet-unsuccessful"? Hmmmm...

Hackett says he made a promise. Promises should be kept.

But, OMG I'd love to see him clean Schmidt's clock.

2. It's too late. The filing deadling in Ohio was today at 4pm
If Hackett didn't file to run in the primary for the second congressional district, he's not going to be on the ballot.

3. You and me both, Rose Siding. Jean Schmidt is not one of my favorite
Congresscritters.

I'd like Paul Hackett to renew his interest in that district and run the former Right-to-Life president out of the Capitol.

I wouldn't miss her much at all.
