Sad ironic news story local (Tulsa) a church pew fell off a truck and |
|
crashed into the windshield of a car injuring a woman and killing her 9 month old baby-sitting charge. I make no judgements about this bizarre incident but I thought it was ..uh, not sure what - 'strange'?

3. When babies die, God is calling them home. When bad guys die... |
|
...it's God's vengeance against the wicked. When old guys die, it's a peaceful end of a full and meaningful life. When teenagers die, it's the devil working against us. When people I disagree with die, it's their karma coming home to roost. When people I like die, it's God testing my faith.
I hope that clears up this matter.

4. Washington state recently passed |
|
a law requiring all loads be appropriately secured while being transported by motor vehicle after a horrific accident involving a young woman injured by falling debris from another vehicle who will NEVER recover from her injuries.
My thoughts go out to the parents of the baby and my wishes for a speedy recovery to the woman driving the car that was hit.

9. Oh! I was *SO* pissed about that accident |
|
and that the guy who was driving the trunk that the peice of whatever flew off of would only suffer like a $200 fine for improperly securing cargo. Apparently, because he didn't INTENTIONALLY unsecure his shit, he could not be held liable for her injuries. She was really screwed up b/c that wood hit her square in the face.
Sad that it had to take a tragedy of that magnitude to occur before sane laws regarding hauling material were made.

Or one of those movable parking lots with all the cars on them. You never know.

11. In the 1980s when I lived in Florida, the gravel hauling trucks would |
|
spray rocks behind them. After one cracked my windshield I learned to stay WAY back behind them. They had canvas covers over the top but it didn't work very well...

15. Those cars have been known to come loose. |
|
There was an accident in Hialeah, Florida, many years ago, where a car rolled off one of those trucks, hit a car traveling behind and killed the woman driver. After that, I always stayed way back when behind one of those car transport trucks.

said the pew fell from a trash truck which was covered. Nonetheless, the driver was cited fo failure to secure his load. Apparently, the load in question originated from a dumpster at a public school. They did not bother to explain what a public school was doing with a church pew in the first place.
