It's time to start using the "F" word........ |
|
And F is for Fascist. I can't think of any better description for the Neocon ideology this administration and the republican leadership are forcing onto the American people, like it or not. It's definitely the rule of an elite minority (them) over the ignorant majority (us) for our "own good". They have absolutely no respect or use for liberal democracy, wiping their asses with the Constitution at every opportunity, and will continue to misuse the resources and power of the government that they've hijacked to deepen and strengthen their rule of us. The latest revelations of warrantless wiretaps of American citizens only raises the question: What else have they been doing that we don't know about? They've already shown a willingness to misuse law enforcement resources against political opponents: remember Tom DeLay siccing Homeland Security on those Texas Democrats after they'd fled to Oklahoma to deny Tom Craddick a quorum for the redistricting bill? They don't need concentration camps (at least not yet), there are plenty of ways short of that to intimidate and neutralize opposition on the way to totalitarianism.
I don't expect to hear the F-word in the mainstream media in the near term, if ever. But I don't think it's shrill to raise the issue here and in the progressive blogs. We now have a dictator in all but name, who openly admits to usurping our constitutional rights at his whim and flouts his disrespect of the rule of law with impunity, supported by his party and its noise machine and relatively unopposed by a timid media. He's on record as saying that it would be a lot easier for him to do the things he wants to do in a dictatorship, with him as the dictator. And people thought he was joking? Given that, what kind of system do you think he wants to establish in our country? And what kind of life do you think people like us can expect to have then?

2. While the F word is great, |

I also like the T word--as in Totalitarian. I went to a school with a Totalitarian library. Spent as little time there as possible! (There were other options on campus, thank goodness.

The F word is omitted from the controlled media the same way depleted uranium is omitted. If we do not use the word fascism, when indeed that is our problem, who will?
Actually I make it a point to use the word fascism rather than let silence win out. I use it in conversation too when I say that the big issue before the country is fascism.
The only way to beat back the fascists is to let people know the enemy is fascism. Sure, plenty of people don't know what fascism is, but that is all going to change.
Fuck the fascists, including their chief puppet.
How is that for using the "F" word?

for the White Rose Society page. Especially the leaflets. Those leaflets are haunting. They scream across the decades to me. And provoke my conscience.

10. Have you read Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States? |
|
What we have now is only the current development in our history of economic subjugation and control of the Many by the Few. It has taken a particularly Fascist turn at this point, because of the chronological confluence of certain social, economic, and political factors.
