The 'christian' Right is now an official group
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 08:12 AM by ck4829
Several 'christian' Right groups have consolidated power and have created a coalition.

That WAS the problem with the 'christian' Right, the 'christian' Right was not a 'group', but rather a name for various organizations.

Well, that is no longer true.

Many powerful organizations in the 'christian' Right have formed something known as the Arlington Group.

And they wield a lot of power.

"The Arlington Group is a coalition of Christian conservative leaders which has been using its contacts with President George W. Bush's political adviser, Karl Rove, to inform the White House that it would withhold its support of Social Security reform if the president fails to support a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arlington_Group

Right now, the Arlington Group is a coalition that includes:
Concerned Women for America
Focus on the Family
American Values
Empower America
Family Research Council
Free Congress Foundation
American Family Association
And other groups in the 'christian' Right

The 'christian' Right is no longer a network of islands of extremist groups. It is now a very real coalition which I believe is a danger to our Constitution and our very Republic.

2. Why "Arlington Group"?
The name "republican party" is much catchier and more descriptive.

13. Both "patriotic" and...
Confederate, as Arlington Cemetary is built on the grounds of Robert E. Lee's old estate.

7. Rather than islands of extremists, they're now a full fledged...
Continent!

Won't change anything, they and their pals--whether formally members of the new group are still going under the most convenient name, Christian Right or Religious Right or whatever.
Politically Motivated Christian Fundamentalists Mutual Support Group (the PMCFMSG for short). Yuck, Yuck.

11. These guys have been in bed with each other for years.
Websites of each of these groups have always contained links the others. Some folks have been watching them for years, amid cries of "conspiracy theories":

www.yuricareport.com/Dominionism/DirectoryRiseOfDominionismInAmerica.html

The Religious Right just decided to come out of the closet & make it official.

12. Remember when
"Commune, Communist, Communism," were not really bad words until they created a radical nation that wished to make the whole world their own realm.
Today it is Islam and Christian doing the same thing, only it will be a sad day when the "ugly christian" makes others turn to "ugly islam" for personal security and safety.
The US government is only allowing this to go on because at the moment it has been/is in their best interest.
If the Democratic party wishes to overcome this power structure of today, they must join in their own crusade, and not remain in fractional dissenting groups!
I am a woman, a senior, a lesbian, a some liberal, a some conservative, but even more a "Freedom Loving American", that can put all other factions aside to help regain the stolen democracy of this nation!
