1. Shut-up George.
Again George doesn't know what he's talking about.

28. no, they dont want us to keep talking about it
is my impression. Lots of messages that "it's over" is a dead giveaway to squelching. Otherwise you just let it die a natural death.

18. A nice townhouse in Georgetown and lunch at The Hay-Adams
George is fat and happy - why rock the boat, or the gravy train for that matter (or is it the gravy boat?).

Dick feels bad. Bu$h is "satisfied".

All is forgiven.

away on it due to so many inconsistencies. We'll see...
I do agree this is taking a lot of much-needed attention away from
more pressing problems and issues.

7. Stephanodildous is just wishful guessing
If by some miracle he's right, he'll finally have gotten something right! He'd be able to crow about that for months. One the other hand, no one takes him seriously so he's not hurt by making erroneous statements.

8. G.S. is a republican shill
but hell, he might be right. I've come to believe * and his cronies could walk down the street dipping the flesh of dead babies in runny monkey shit and eating it like KFC, all the while shooting AK-47s into a nearby kindergarten and the only consequences they would face would be an admiring media gushing about their manly competence and 38-41 percent of the American populace pledging allegiance to their satanic masters.

If it weren't for DU, I think I might lose my mind.

he flunked responsible hunter 101, totally unforgivable in these parts.

10. The propaganda cycle now moves to the next stage:
trial balloons for replacement Veeps. Noonan in the WSJ speaks for Poppy: Dick's a liability. Allen has already showed his hand, there's been a lot of discussion about McCain, and the rest of the pack will emerge in the next few weeks.

BTW: Here's the headline at the WaPo: "Cheney's Case Closed"

Look down the Front Page to the little box on the right, More Headlines:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/front.htm?reload=true

Of course, the story is actually about the local Sheriff's investigation, but the message is clear. The WaPo headline writer and George drink the same Kool-aid.

Centered around the fact the fact that he wore a pink tie for his Fox "interview.".

They say it "humanized" him, made him look warmer and contrite.

I fucking kid you not.

I swear I don't know how long I can stay here...

Doesn't mean I'll quit talking, debating, or working for change; just means I'll doing a "Mormon" and stocking up on canned goods, bottled water, and shotgun shells.

Personally, I firmly believe it will be the NEW AMERIKKKAN EMPIRE, or 1917, "American Style," Neither of which I find attractive.

Hey, if they free up all those TROOPS, they can make sure none a' them thar TERRARISTS disrupts our holy GOD FEARIN' ELECTION THINGY.

What do you think will happen if all those NRA folks finally figure out that once they sign up for a CCW, they've put their name, address, phone number and SSN on a HIT LIST? That will make a WWF Cage tag team look like Ding Dong School.

14. I wonder if Stephanopolous would feel the same way if . . .
Cheney had blasted Mrs. Stephanopolous in the face with a shotgun and then gone to cocktails and dinner for 14 hours? I mean, as long as he was forced four days later to grudgingly admit in a canned interview before a friendly questioner that he felt just terrible about the whole thing?

I wonder if that would be a good enough explanation for George then? And if it wouldn't be satisfactory behavior from Cheney if the victim had been his wife, why is George so anxious to grant Cheney absolution otherwise?

16. If the media is going to continue to pretend that they are
pounding Cheney("see what big ole liberal meanies we are") while ignoring the tough questions about possible alcohol involvement, lobbying connections, story inconsistencies, etc., they might as well dispense with the issue, IMO.

no idea what he believes in.

Someone always has to issue him an opinion. Fortunately, he's in the right profession for that to happen. He would have been good in the military too-

27. I remember when the government was used to investigate
Clinton's underpants, then George thought nobody should be above the law and there should be no secrets withheld from the press.

But obviously now Cheney can be above the law and as secretive as he wants, whether it's war or exposing a spy or covering up an accidental shooting or meeting with oil executives in secret or whatever.

Makes so much sense.
