Marijuana is Washington state's No. 8 agricultural commodity
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/17/marijuana.harvest.ap/index.html

Marijuana eradication efforts have been hampered by cutbacks in Air National Guard budgets and personnel have been assigned to tasks related to the Iraq war, Wagg said. National Guard helicopters are the most productive way to spot marijuana patches in the county's remote fields and draws, he said.

There's an up side to everything, I guess. :hippie:

5. more suggestions on wars to fight
don't forget we need a War on Hurricanes and a War on Floods.

Maybe also a War on breeched levee's?

Add the War on the Constitution, which is probably the most successful concurrent War the USA is currently fighting!

6. Just legalize it
and stop the bullshit.

Oh but we can't do that. It would be bad for BushCo business interests.

8. In Tennessee it is the #1 cash crop!
It is such a waste of resources to try to eradicate a weed using helicopters. The only reason we are still financing this stupidity is the fact that the bureaucrats that run the "war on drugs" have a good thing going.
I blame BOTH the democrats and republicans for this stupidity. How can they look you in the eye and say "Alcohol is acceptable but Marijuana is a dangerous drug"?
I don't believe it should be taxed and sold legally. I believe it should be de-criminalized and thats that. If I want to grow a couple of plants next to my tomato's in my back yard I shouldn't be taxed for it nor should I be a criminal. The war on drugs makes drug dealers rich and provides a steady paycheck to government employees. The war on drugs will never be "won" because there is no incentive to do so.
How does this war on drugs mesh with my RIGHT to "Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness"?
