The "empire" soon struck back, as Pelosi and other Democrats announced that Star Wars director George Lucas would be appearing with them at a town hall-style meeting at the Capitol next week.

It's so IRONIC that Star Wars Episode III depicts what is currently happening with the corrupt RETHUGS in this country! If anything THEY are the evil empire... there actions have proven this without a reasonable doubt. WHAT NERVE these house rethugs have!

Star Wars is a legacy that spans so much and is so legendary. EP III was one of the best in the series. You just have to appreciate and understand Star Wars to truly understand it.

But this is not about if you like Star Wars or not... its about the NERVE of the rethugs for making something like this when they are so clearly the evil empire. If this had KKKarl Rove as "Darth Rove"

Considering the Prequel Trilogy is all about a phony war that the Chancelor and his minions (the Sith) propagate and manipulate to gain control of the Galaxy (complete with emergency powers and scapegoats like the Jedi, who are the Empire's own version of the Democrats), I'd say it's pretty crystal clear who represents those elements in our own society.

Besides, we beat them to the punch on this one, there were even TV commercials made by Democratic organizations showing the Rethugs as the Evil Empire attacking/taking over the government/Supreme Court. That was at just the time the final Star Wars was opening and, I think, when Johnnie Roberts was facing Congress.

Other Repubic perversions:

Wars of aggression/occupation are wars of freedom (Operation Iraqi Freedom?), Healthy Forests is reckless/aggressive unregulated logging (converting healthy forests into lumber), Estate Taxes on the Wealthy are Death Taxes (and supposedly hurts poor people instead of being a major source of money for things that help everyone), Tax Cuts are a major boost to the Economy (yeah, and trickle-down economics works (not!)), the people have Too Much Healthcare (so because they're "abusing" health insurance we definitely don't want to provide health insurance for the millions who don't have it, can't afford it or cannot buy it for any amount of money), Deficits don't matter (except that they gradually destroy the economy and set us up for the collapse of the Dollar and our children's children will still be paying on money this generation of Rethugs spent), Cutting Taxes while Spending More makes perfect sense (only in their world...).

And many just danced away while the Titanic sank (while the most wealthy watched from a distance in half-empty life boats)(in our case, they were the ones who chose to run at full speed ahead through iceberg laden waters and were also the one's responsible for watching for the icebergs and were also the one's at the helm (steering the boat)). Freezing to death in deep water is a painful, but sure, way to become deceased; such was the fate of those who weren't in charge in an upside down situation. Upside down? This is an Unsinkable Ship that Sinks (Oops). Frequently Sighting Icebergs means Go Faster Despite the Darkness (Uhh...). We can Trust the Captain and Crew to Keep Us Safe (Surely)! Large Oceanliners Always Carry Enough Lifeboats (Don't They?). Poor People Will Have An Equal Chance of Surviving (Oh, Always). Space Onboard Lifeboats Will Always Be Used To Maximum Effectiveness (Sure, For Saving A Handful Of the Wealthy/Powerful). It'll be Okay, We Have Life-Jackets/Floatation Devices (That's Enough, Right?).
