I am a high school senior and I am currently taking AP European History and we are studying Imperialism (late 19th early 20th century) We read an article and then had a seminar on it. I asked a question to one of those NRA clothes wearing right-wing nuts, phrasing it as such: "Do you think the 'noble cause' of bringing civility and European way of life to the 'uncivilized savages' of Africa, India, and Indochina was their actual goal, or was it just propaganda to convince the populous of France or Britain that what they were doing was for the greater good, and to brainwash the soldiers into believing the same while fulfilling their true goal of greed?" She fell for it! and replied exactly they way I would have if asked about the 'noble cause' of Iraq. There is a very good paralell between Imperialism of that time period and the Imperialism that Bush is executing now.

Suppose that the U.S. really is the "good guys" and we are different from the Europeans. How would we know? What evidence would we have?
