Re: Oklahoma City Bomber, McVeigh. Did the US gov. create that monster? |
|
In other words, did McVeigh use Ruby Ridge and Waco as justification according to his twisted mind?
My republ..... er... ahh.. "Libertarian" co-worker finds it "ridiculous" that we could create terrorists. He's a big "Waco" "Ruby Ridge" squawker.
I'm looking to turn the tables on him.

1. Ruby Ridge happened during Bush the Elder's reign |
|
Freepers think that Clinton personally did it.

McVeigh had said that he was influenced by what happened both at Ruby Ridge and Waco. And point out to your friend that many of the militia units could be classifed as terrorist organizations as well.

4. Yea, I think we did create our own homegrown... |
|
terrorist in Timothy Mcveigh. These guys and gals will lash out at America for taking away their dreams, their hopes, their limbs and their innocence.
Unfortunately, our soldiers that are coming home are getting pushed aside by the * cabal, the only got like a 2%-3% raise. (So they can pay for all of the missing equipment when they return from the war).
There benefits are getting cut, they are not getting the proper mental counseling to deal with the horrific brutality of war. Then they see pictures of the the American prisons and realize they were out in the field getting blown up only to have the American prison system committing torture in their name.
Some are committing suicide Some are killing their spouses If they are gay they are coming home to find that *Cabal is trying to take their rights away If they are women they are coming home to find that *Cabal is trying to take their rights away And some will respond like Timothy McVeigh-his response to Ruby Ridge and the compound....

It's not just the Bush Cabal that is trying to take the rights of gays and women, it's the RW Religious fanatics and those that follow them as well. Without support Bush and his evil minions wouldn't have a chance.
So let's assign blame to all that are resposible, not just to BushCo and his board of directors.

I consider the RW Regligious Fanatics a Cult. I think we need to address them as such, * has given them the power to impact policies in the US.
What I want to see when we get back in power is that these groups are recognized as hate groups, right up there with the skinheads and other known groups.

7. It is widely reported that something clicked with McVeigh |
|
as a result of those two situations. Is this semantics? "Did we create..." implies that the feds did those with the goal in mind of energizing the militia movement. Too many levels of conspiracy therory for me.

9. Create may not be the right term.... |
|
But an environment was created for soldiers like McVeigh to fall through the cracks. There are many disenchanted McVeigh types coming home to a country that is divided and at war with itself.
Do I believe there was a conspiracy in McVeigh's case, no.
Do I believe the US government failed him just like they are doing with many of the current soldiers coming home, Absolutely.

Gore Vidal wrote an excellent article on McVeigh some yrs ago, I highly recommend it.the story is allot more complex than the MSM would lead you to believe. The Meaning of Timothy McVeigh by Gore Vidal http://www.geocities.com/gorevidal3000/tim.htm

|
IIRC, that's how McVeigh described his use of a 50 caliber sniper rifle.

13. It's unfortunate that they executed McVeigh |
|
I always thought there was more to his story than he would talk about. I am curious as to his experiences during the Gulf War and how they affected him-was he exposed to chemical warfare? Or depleted uranium?
