America (Fuck Yeah!)

Does anyone else get as pissed as I do when you hear that US aid begins pouring into these disaster-ravaged nations in less than a day:

"The U.S. military dispatched at least two warships and other forces to the area to provide medical assistance and other relief, officials said.

In Washington, Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Brian Maka said the military was dispatching the USS Essex and the USS Harper's Ferry, and possibly other ships. He said Army and Marine Corps ground forces that happened to be in the Philippines also were available to help.

Maka said it was not immediately clear how many U.S. troops would be sent to the disaster scene, but he said nearly 6,000 happened to be in the region as participants in the annual "Balikatan" exercise with the Philippine military.

while our people... WAIT

Feds pull plug on hotel program for Katrina victims
FEMA: Families still will get aid that can be used for lodging, home repairs
By P.J. Huffstutter, Los Angeles Times

NEW ORLEANS — The clock ran out Monday for an estimated 12,000 families left homeless by last year's hurricanes when a judge agreed to let the federal government cut them from a program that has paid for housing at hotels across the United States

and wait...

1. They get bennies from the int'l community when they do that
They don't give a damn what happens to us and a good portion of the world hates us anyway.

Bush could blow us all up and it wouldn't bother him a bit.

What must it be like to have a government that actually gives a damn whether you live or die?

2. There's a simple reason for it:
There aren't a lot of black people in the Philipines.

9. It's just 2 ships
No it doesn't make me mad. There were ships in the Gulf, the reason anybody got rescued at all is because the Coast Guard was there, along with some other ships.

What makes me mad is that the reason the Gulf hasn't gotten help is because they don't believe government can accomplish anything. You've heard the idiots on CSpan say it. Kick the government out of the way and let private industries and charities take care of it. Government is just incompetent and everybody knows it. That's the way Republicans in the south want it and that's the reason it is the way it is.

I just wish I could ban them from getting any help at all, and get all the help to the Democrats who believe government is there to serve the people and that it belongs to us.

Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 08:10 AM by NNN0LHI
Its like the food drops in Afghanistan a few years ago. The US dropped a couple of pallets of food (mostly on top of people heads) and it made everyone in America feel better.
