Sources close to the investigation into the leak of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson have revealed this week that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has not turned over emails to the special prosecutor's office that may incriminate Vice President Dick Cheney, his aides, and other White House officials who allegedly played an active role in unmasking Plame Wilson's identity to reporters.

Moreover, these sources said that, in early 2004, Cheney was interviewed by federal prosecutors investigating the Plame Wilson leak and testified that neither he nor any of his senior aides were involved in unmasking her undercover CIA status to reporters and that no one in the vice president's office had attempted to discredit her husband, a vocal critic of the administration's pre-war Iraq intelligence. Cheney did not testify under oath or under penalty of perjury when he was interviewed by federal prosecutors.

The emails Gonzales is said to be withholding contained references to Valerie Plame Wilson's identity and CIA status and developments related to the inability to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Moreover, according to sources, the emails contained suggestions by the officials on how the White House should respond to what it believed were increasingly destructive comments Joseph Wilson had been making about the administration's pre-war Iraq intelligence.

12. I agree, the Media is a huge, huge issue. However, there have been

parties out of power in the past that have had a difficult time getting anything changed for the good but they have successes. I fail to see where the dems have any good leadership or direction to have any successes.

You look at the poll numbers where the republicans are falling including the President. The gains are not what the democrats are doing but the failures and corruption of the republicans. The last one CNN showed was that the people do not think much of either party. As the democrats said in their SOTU address, "There is a better way", I just wish they would find it.

I am just tired of one thing after another and all you get is "we tried, we did our best" nothing we can do. I realize there will be few wins but give me a break we should be able to have a few more than what we are getting.

Then again, you get a fighter like Paul Hackett but he is not a party man so you have to get rid of him. Maybe some fresh blood like him would help for us to get some good leadership and some wins.

take it to the halls of power, let those Legislators who have demonstrated that they are not part of the lackey mind know they have your support for continued action, and urge those who have not to do so or face defeat at the polls.

This is not a f*ing tea party, and we will get nowhere if we waste time looking for good fellowship in a fun group. Political action is not a social activity, although that may be a side effect (many children born between 1965 and 1975 are supposedly an example thereof :smoke: ). If there's nothing moving near you, or moving in the wrong direction, make something move in the right direction _yourself_. Discuss, convince, argue, communicate, organize. This is about critical mass, ours needs to be bigger than theirs. The tide is turning in our favor, let's capitalize on the opportunity.

I'm sure this has been said on related threads but the "Cheney Hunting Scandal" is the best we could've hoped for from the MSM.

They've never covered any of the other Cheney scandals with this fervor and there is no reason to believe they would have changed course and done it with any of these other issues.

In fact, the Libby revelations came out prior to the Cheney shooting and it was ignored by the MSM.

I understand the frustration but the MSM will only rise up when they feel they have been snubbed and it's up to us to capitalize on it when it happens, such as with Cheney.
