Whittington Apologizes to Cheney - Cheney never says "I'm Sorry"...
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 01:52 PM by Junkdrawer
"My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this past week."

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-021706cheney_lat,0,2345851.story?coll=la-home-headlines

Here's the "Full Transcript" (snicker) of Cheney's interview with Brit Hume:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,185148,00.html

Dare you to find the word "sorry" or "regret" or "apology" in there.

Psst, Dick: People are noticing:

10. Yeah, It Wasn't A Hard Prediction To Make
But still, I'll pat your back if you pat mine.;-)

Even though I knew this was going to happen, it's sad and frightening, and not really funny and I don't feel good about the prediction...

11. Just a hunch, but I think Whittington's apology was a subtle slap...
at Cheney for never publicly (or privately??) apologizing.

It may be a Southern Gentleman kind of thing.

14. Sad to see good people enable narcissists.
It only confirms to the narcissist that he was 'right' all along and as a result only promotes the narcissist to weave more wrecklessness, harm and destruction to most often decent, well-meaning people who pass his/her way.

I believe that Mr. Whittington is probably a very good, decent human being. However, his enabling Dick Cheney by literally apologizing to him when HE WAS THE ONE WHO WAS ALMOST KILLED, only further promotes a delusion for Cheney that he did no wrong and that damned Henry just got in his way.

Never good when any of us are not held accountable for our actions. Never. Dick Cheney is the result of a person who has never been held accountable.

Dick is giving you all a big clue. When self-centeredness goes to this extent, sobriety is almost impossible.

22. And just what DID they go through? Where's Lynn in all this?
Must've been tough for Dick to: choose Faux 'cause you know they'll let you say what you want, no real questions asked, 'cause hey, you're really just bored with the whole thing; look chagrined and serious during the interview when you really felt just bored with the whole thing; and say it was "the worst day of my life, at that moment," when you really felt just bored with the whole thing...

yup, the family went through a whole lot, Harry.

Unbelievable.

thread title (2-19-06 GD): Jane Hamsher Explains the WIDER IMPORTANCE of the Cheney Shooting Story
Comment/excerpt: Very insightful analysis by Jane Hamsher of firedoglake. As Jane sees it, Fuddgate has weakened Cheney, and this has in turn lessened his clout in strong-arming Congressional members into toeing his line, at least for now. One major issue impacted by this, Jane believes, is the status of NSA Spygate investigation.

edited to add this great graphic from firedoglake:
