"I have the feeling about 60% of what you say is crap." Dave L to O'Reilly
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 12:16 AM by autorank
He's just killing him. "I don't think you represent an objective viewpoint."

Now O'Reilly is trying to come back. He's a wimp when he's off his home turm.

O'Reilly: "I'll send you a hat (from "The Factor")
Dave: "Well send Cindy Sheehan a hat."

Damn, Dave did him in.

14. Did I hear right? Paul S. said "You're low-balling."
Dave could barely conceal his contempt.

First words out of my mouth when Letterman said it.

7. That was the most tension I have seen
on any late-night talk show.

O'Reilly was steaming! Dave had it out for him and it worked great.

10. I was tipped on GD about this and turned it on. It was dripping with
tension and scorn. Dave couldn't have shown more contempt. It was like Dave was irritated to have O'Reilly in the same room. Seriously, if Letterman can survive a pissed off Cher and Madonna, O'Leilly is chump change.

Dave :yourock:

Dang, I was flipping between him and the game, I should have taped it. It would be nice to have the unedited version of the taping. That was brutal and Dave really made me proud. Leno blows, Dave rules.

Peace

9. Dave smacked him down
SMACKED him down!

It was so damn beautiful, I was whooping and hollering.

When he said "How anyone couldn't feel the utmost empathy for Cindy Sheehan, I mean Jesus Christ" or something to that effect, it was just precious.

I wish Dave had brought up the San Francisco comments the asshole made when O'Lielly said we should be "careful of what we say." Oh, I so wanted to hear Dave say, "Then why did you invite Al Quaida to bomb San Fransisco, you forked-tongued, pasty son-of-a-bitch?"

Expecting a softball interview. Plus he lives in a bubble surrounded by the brown-nosers at FAUX.

Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 01:16 AM by alphafemale
I tune to keep up with what the enemy is up to.

It's more a horrendous lick Bill butt show than anything.

I also disagree with Rush. But at least he has incredible talent for radio that makes him compelling to listen to.

O'Lies just a frightened wannabe.

Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 12:34 AM by mtnsnake
...at least not on a late night talk show or any other TV talk show either, for that matter. Dave simply pulled out all the stops and threw caution to the wind.

Letterman was simply awesome the way he worked over O'Reilly. Knock-out!

22. You must have never seen Morton Downey Jr then
He would get right in his guest's faces and scream at them. He was a riot. Pre Springer, but about real hard hitting subjects. They called him "Morton the Mouth". Dave was much calmer and there were no airborne chairs involved tonight!

36. That guy was way out there...
Screaming in their face was just part of it. And Downie was very bright.

What Dave did last night was better than Morton in the sense that Dave was massively disrespectful...just told the guy he didn't believe him. O'Reilly looked like a stooge, like he was about to cry. If Downie had taken apart O'Reilly, I'd have bought front row seats, what a pleasure that would be. For Dave, though, it was quite a performance. It was crystal clear that if O'Reilly had acted up, Dave would have done a massive smack down. In retrospect, I think that was the tension.

Cool stuff.

20. Never any doubt Dave would do him in
Dave has been on the air in one capacity or another for over half his life, is the consumate professional, and has a show that runs like a well-oiled machine that still allows for a great deal of off-the-cuff remarks. O'Reilly is a scared little boy who has to cut off people's mics when they aren't bowing down in agreement with him.

Why? Why the fuck should anyone respect your opinion, O'Reilly? I respect your right to HAVE an opinion, but neither I nor Letterman nor anyone else has to respect the opinion itself.
