24. Kerry Said That To Her!
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 06:07 PM by sasha031
I heard it, he was brilliant....really really brilliant:applause:

Rice was her usual psychotic lying self...even Chaffey was great..

he said something to the effect,
"Let's see, we don't talk to Hammas because we don't like them, nor Bolivia,Venezuela,Iran, Chili, who are we talking to."

31. He said to her--
something like, "Just having an election doesn't mean you have a democracy." and she hemmed and hawed a while, then finally agreed, and then said, with that little shake of her head, "but as far as I know, there has never been a democracy without an election first." (Kerry rattles her like nobody else can)

Then he answered, "America's democracy began with a revolution, not an election" and she said, "yeah but an election followed right after..." But she was wrong. We had a Declaration of Independence, and then a long bloody war, and then they finally selected some delegates from each state and put together a Constitution and a federal government. No popular elections for quite some time! And we did it ourselves for the most part--didn't have another country coming in and overthrowing the British and occupying us and sending their own troops to die. We had help from the French but our founding fathers made sure that we put ourselves under no political obligation to them or anyone else.

5. Well, she's sorta right...
Saddam got 99% of the vote in his last election. Some coutries vote, but they're theocracies so as long as you vote for the correct religious leader then you won't go to hell...or jail.

as 'failed' too. something like 'doesn't meet the international standards for a fair, free election.' I love Jimmy :)

29. I listened to about 2/3rds of Kerry's questioning of Dr. Rice and
felt that while he was not terribly dynamic in his approach, his grasp of the subject and range in expressing its considerations absolutely swamped lil' Condi.

I betcha there ain't nobody over at State who talks back at Condoleezza like that.

(to the tune of "Mona Lisa"):

"Condoleezza, Condoleezza, lies become you..."

Go John Kerry.
