Rumsfeld Says Extremists Winning Media War (what a nitwit)
Evidently, the insurgents are winning because they have better chat rooms. What a freaking "the dog ate my homework" POS this senile nazi is. Hey donnyboy, the extremists are winning because we lied our way into war, killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians, and won't go the fuck home, you fucking DIMWIT.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Al-Qaida and other Islamic extremist groups have poisoned the Muslim public's view of the United States through deft use of the Internet and other modern communications methods that the American government has failed to master, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Friday.

In a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations, Rumsfeld sounded a theme he frequently raises as a key to eventually winning the global war on terrorism: countering anti-Western messages from Islamic extremists.

''Our enemies have skillfully adapted to fighting wars in today's media age, but for the most part we -- our country, our government -- has not adapted,'' he said.

3. Step one, define the problem
Step 2 - eliminate the problem. This is an attempt to shut down the internet to citizen traffic and turn it over solely to the corporations, is my guess.

I suppose he could hold himself up as a shining example of "failing to master the Internet and other modern communications methods"...

12. According to these people
Liberals are extremists to be rounded up and treated like terrorists

Will it get to the point where someone invades America to liberate us and spread democracy?

13. If America was still a "Representative Republic" with...
democratic leanings instead of a Corporatitst State, Rumsfailed would have been Impeached, then prosecuted and sent to prison for at least 10 years.

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also prosecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.

15. They're a bunch of morans
What are they gonna do - set up a propaganda website and expect people to go there to soak up the bullshit? The internet is too powerful to be manipulated - because the TRUTH is able to be broadcast far and wide and people get to make up their own minds - the opposite of propaganda.

17. Here's an idea - Stop confirming their worst expectations
When you go out of your way to prove the extremists are right, it tends to enhance their credibility.

18. You know last night I watched a bio on the Harlem Globtrotters...
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 06:28 PM by dicknbush
It was very interesting. They were an amazing asset to the US government in the fifties. They travelled the world. They played before Evita Peron and her husband. Every where they went the perception of America as a great country was enhanced. They played a game in Berlin in the fifties I am not sure what year but it was in the early to mid fifties. They played in the stadium where they had the 1936 Olympics where Jessie Owens shamed Hitler. There we 75 to 120 thousand people their. The Globetrotters arrived and were warming up when a small helicopter approached and landed in the middle of the stadium. Jessie Owens emerged from the helicopter in a very nice soot. The crow went wild. Remember this in Berlin in 1951 (I remembered becasue they said it was 15 years earlier at the 36 Olympics when Jessie was snubbed) Any way the Globetrotters surrounded Owens so you couldn't see him. Jessie emerged from the circle in the same track outfit he had worn during the Olympics and the crowd went nuts. As jessie did a lap around the track he went up to the mayor of Berlin whos said "Jessie Owens 15 years ago Adolf Hitler refused to shake your hand today I take great pleasure in shaking both of your hands" It was a great moment. It was a great show. It was on a public station in concert with Black History Month! Oh and by the way the day the Globetrotters were returning from this ambassadorship the good white folks in Cisero Illinois were burning an apartment that a black family deined to think they could move into an all white neighborhood! That is the same neighborhood that tried to stone Martin Luther King to death latter in the sixties.
