I heard some Bill Schneider thing on CNN this week about Gallup Poll |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 06:46 PM by KoKo01
that 69% of Dems and 69% of Repugs no longer trusted our Senate and House no matter which party.
Did anyone else hear this...and do you have a link to the Gallup poll? He kept going on about it and how it was the same Number of folks on BOTH sides and said that it was ANGRY VOTERS...and that's how his segment was captioned on CNN.
I didn't see any posts here on DU about it...so maybe I imagined it?
Would seem it would be VERY SIGNIFICANT...if what he said in his report is true...but given MSM...he might have lied.

And he did say that about the percentages of angry voters at both sides, but he also that was bad news for the Republicans, because they are in power. He said the last time it was like that was 1994, and the Democrats got kicked out of power.

5. Thank YOU! that's what I thought I heard on his report...he was saying |
|
that when the Polling shows ANGRY VOTERS on both sides it usually means that there's a turn...a house cleaning where voters "turn the bums out." (my interpretation of his segment.)
Still it seemed that Schneider was thinking that there was going to be a BIG TURNAROUND in 06?
He kept mentioning Ross Perot though ...so I wondered if CNN wasn't pushing with Rove's direction skills for some Third Party Candidate to save their ratings. It must be very boring to cover two parties who are in lock step...except for a small group of "rebels" that "they" NEVE COVER...to admit they are hoping for a ratings boost from a "Third Candidate." :D

6. Agree...but the only true traditional Repugs I can name are Shays (CT) and |
|
maybe...just maybe...Rockefeller who defied his family in his young years and switched to Dem over his Repug relatives when he was in his late 20's.
can anyone give me more names of Repugs who aren't Bush/Cheney/RW Christian PNAC supporters?
I'm asking for BIG/Influential Names here. I know there are more..just can't think of them.

7. I want the terms "Republican" and "Conservative" to become |
|
synonymous with neocons and Bush.
I think when we separate them, we help them out.
It is like how they demonized the word "liberal".
"Conservative" should now mean fiscally irresponsible, incompetent, warmonger, crony-loving governing - actually turning governing over to lobbyist and companies only interested in making a buck off the American Taxpayer.
I want that to be what people think of when they hear the word Republican and Conservative. We are giving them a pass when we say they aren't real Conservatives or Republicans. We keep sticking up for their terms. I want their terms to become smear words.
But that is just my opinion. :)

9. But they didn't get what they voted for |
|
No anti-gay hate amendment to the Constitution.
No total ban on abortion, or even major changes on that issue.
Some have even figured out that those tax cuts to the ultra wealthy aren't trickling down.
And the traditional Republicans are mad because of the huge deficit and the government interference in our lives.
