4. I just heard Bill O'Reilly saying the same thing (gasp!)...
O'Leilly was interviewing Laura Ingram, who had just returned from Iraq.

Bill basically said the war looks un-winnable and that there is no way to fight people with bombs.

Laura touted all of the "good work we are doing over there" but Bill kept coming back to the point that this thing really is not winnable.

I was astounded.

Maybe the Reps are realizing that they can't go into the 06 elections without acknowledging that they must do something. The very tragic thing---is that the Dems should have been screaming all of this at the top of their lungs. Sadly, they've been neutered by someone or something--and most objections to Iraq's obvious failures are muted. The Reps will finally admit that we need to pull out--and they'll take the credit for that too--and probably make strides in 06 because of this.

5. About three years too late aren't they?
It's been downhill since we took Baghdad but the chickenhawk chorus just had to wave their flags and cheer on this war for a " noble cause".

Are they beginning to see the egg on their collective faces?

6. Any bets on how long it'll take the Repubs to start blaming the Dems?
Cuz, you know, the Republicans are the party of personal responsibility... :sarcasm:

8. Actually, they'll blame the old guy that got birdshot all over
his face and chest for getting in Cheney's way and by some twist of associative logic, extend the blame to him for everything that is going wrong for the Bush/Cheney administration.

10. Gosh not according to all the commercials around here.
There's some conservative group running commercials with vets on it claiming how we're actually winning the war. Or I should say people who claim to be vets. This spin campaign is sickening.
