A good argument with gay marriage against fundies
I was at another site just looking around it and the person had a section about gay marriage and she had a really great argument for the fundies I thought I would pass along. She tells how she is a Christian but she doesn't like the thought of other people not having the same rights she does (which is like how I am). She tells how the fundies use the excuse of the Bible and than asks the question that is perfect to ask the fundies: why is divorce legal? Jesus did talk about divorce and adultery and was against it so why do lots of them get divorces themselves and have it legal? So next time you come across a fundie about gay marriage ask them about that. Just thought I would share. :)

1. Good point about divorce...
the only people I know dishonest enough to abandon their marriage vows were all "christians."

A bigger issue for those people since they're so pro-tax is that since married couples are fined by the IRS for being married, allowing all people to marry would increase taxes. I almost hooked one of them with that argument.

4. I do remember last year
seeing a poll about divorce raitings and Texas was number one with divorce while Massachuettes was last. Divorce has become really big in the church over the years where in the past you were shuned upon if you had one. That's another good argument but I thought a lot of them didn't like tax's?

12. They don't personallly like to pay...
but they love it when others pay more. See, you just have to understand those strange people. They just aren't logical.

2. If gay love God won't endorse
Then you must outlaw divorce.

3. My state (Okla) has the 2nd highest divorce rate in the country and is
stuffed to the gills with fundies. They are among the LEAST faithful people...I know a LOT of them who cheat...both genders WITH both genders.
But boy howdy, they flock to the polls to vote against any kind of equal rights for them damn gay fairies. :grr:

8. LOL really
Like Rush Limbaugh for example! And lots of gay couples have been together for years! It's all just hypocritical. I always ask why am I more important because I'm straight, white and of the popular religion?

7. Another great arguement
In Kansas they are talking about raising the legal age of marriage from 12 to 16. Yes at 12 you can get married in kansas, but the person can't be of the same gender.

So when they say Gay marriage is a turn towards pedophilla (I hate that arguement) you can point out pedophilla is already legal. . .

Our Glorious Commander George Jesus Bush is Great, hallelujah!

Blah Blah Blah...

Not saying it won't work on some, but they'll give themselves an out somehow.

14. jesus never talked gays, paul and leviticus did. shell fish and
blended thread and divorce with leviticus and paul was more bothered with divorce than gay. but no one has shown me where jesus talked gay.

but yes, anytime anyone tells me that gay is sin, then i tell them about the three.

jesus also said pray in a closet and not out on the corner street, what hypocrits you are. and he says dont have these long ole on and on pray, make it short and sweet.

cherry pick. i go after any of the religious that deem themselves the ability to judge thru cherry picking
