CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - His face marked with tiny birdshot wounds, the lawyer shot by Vice President
Dick Cheney while quail hunting left a hospital Friday, saying "accidents do and will happen" and apologizing for the trouble the incident had caused the vice president.
"My family and I are deeply sorry for everything Vice President Cheney and his family have had to deal with," Harry Whittington said, his voice a bit raspy but strong in his first comments since being shot on a South Texas ranch six days earlier.

The Austin attorney spoke less than 20 minutes before Cheney made his first public appearance since the shooting, receiving a rousing ovation from legislators in his home state of Wyoming.

"It's a wonderful experience to be greeted by such warmth by the leaders of our great state. It's especially true when you've had a very long week," Cheney told lawmakers in Cheyenne.

Cheney mentions an "Executive Order" when responding to the only substantive issue he allowed Boot-Licker Britt to pose to him -- about Scooter and Treasonous National Security violations of Plamegate.

The EO expansion was issued in March of 2003. (Interesting timing, no?)

That makes the bushkid himself a willful, active, co-conspirator in the effort to out/ruin/kill? Valerie Plame in retaliation for Joe Wilson's whistleblowing on their Terorize the Nation into War caper.

The chatterers are "baffled" by how badly Cheney handled this incident. But what if we give him some credit for the 40+ years of PR saavy he is also reported to have? The "handling" may have been deliberate.

Cheney may be playing hardball against some effort to dump him, hoping to stave off impeachment**.

Who knows, may Ole Harry had volunteered to give Dick the "bad news."

In any case, Uncle Dick has just dropped Plamegate turd, steaming and stinking, on the carpet of the Oval Office.

13. Wake up DUer's: darth cheney's home state is pretty "out there"

For those that haven't been there (most of you), Wyoming is a lily white, isolated enclave of uninformed people who suck much more out of the nation than they contribute. When there, I've been floored @ just how narrow minded & ignorant these otherwise nice folks are.
Face it, Wyoming is a great place to keep your head in the sand (whether you know you are or not) far from the reality of the rest of the nation. Unfortunately, this is typical of the red state "heartland" rove & gang cynically exploit to ride herd over the rest of us.
