I think CNN is showing the absurdity of the apology.

13. There's another take on other words in his statement. Interesting, too.
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/02/17.html#a7199

Whittington backs up the media!

Harry Whittington made his first public statement today and praised the media for their coverage. He says the accident happened on Friday, but I'm not sure if he's accurate on that point or not.

Whittington: I compliment you on what you've done-I've read and seen many of your reports and I know your job isn't easy.

What an interesting sentiment on his part considering that statement definitely wasn't in the Karl Rove playbook. We all witnessed how the wingnuts went berserk this week over the way the press corp (and many of us) were questioning how the shooting was handled by Cheney and his entourage. Harry did get back on message shortly.

He looked pretty good all in all and that's really nice. He called himself a very lucky person which translates into: "I almost got blown away."

Who is that guy behind him bobbing up and down with the freakish grin?

Like NYC apologizing for putting the WTC in front of those planes and killing the hijackers.

3. Whittington is the poster child for CODEPENDENCY
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 09:25 PM by Gman
I mean, shit! The guy gets shot in the face by a reckless drunk and he apologizes to the reckless drunk that shot him??? This is the definition of codependent.

Maybe we can define some kind of right wing codependency here. I mean, that's got to be a defined illness.

Or they really and truly do fear anyone that crosses them.

5. Not medical, but I bruise just like that.
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 09:33 PM by txindy
A charming shade of yellow, isn't it? Yech. It takes me six or seven days, though, to reach that state. And it lingers for nearly twice that long. See the deep purple/black bruising by his collar? That's how it starts after a serious blow. Severe bruising (I've been known to play sports and am not as quick as I was to dodge things! lol) turns to that ugly, yellowish color. It doesn't spread beyond all reason, though, so most of his face took quite a pounding directly.

10. In his carefully read speech, Whitington said he was shot FRIDAY -
I'm wondering if that was NOT a mistake and is one reason why the bruising has progressed so far toward healing.

thread title (2-17-06 GD): Question: Why does Mr. Whittington say Friday?
On camera, Whittington says the shooting happened on FRIDAY, not SATURDAY as has been reported. Mistake or even a bigger coverup than we thought?
WASHINGTON POST VIDEO here – the “Friday” comment is just before 1 minute (there is an ad before the Whittington video starts):

(I’ve also saved a full-screen shot but did not upload it because of its size.)
Reuters reports (http://in.today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2006-02-18T020053Z_01_NOOTR_RTRJONC_0_India-237197-1.xml) the speech and gratuitously adds, after the “Friday” statement that he meant Saturday: “"We all assume certain risks in whatever we do. Regardless of how experienced, careful and dedicated we are, accidents do and will happen. And that's what happened last Friday," Whittington said, meaning on Saturday.”

16. Been a while since I had big bruising.
I recall small ones yellow pretty quick, but bigger ones take longer. Just wondering about opinions on HOW long.

Also, do they take longer with more elderly people?

11. cnn Doesn't Get Anything.
What is it exactly that you think cnn gets? They are nothing but a right wing msm outlet. You must be smokin' something to think otherwise.

They are presenting the case as is. They don't get anything. Never have, Never will. I haven't watched them in months, and I will continue to Not watch.
