He also alluded to bush as being an "activist."

2. Fred Barnes was full of lies tonight on "Real Time with Bill Maher"
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 11:58 PM by Eric J in MN
Maher said that there was nothing rebellious about Bush's corporate handouts in the Medicare bill and the Energy bill, and Barnes said that liberals aren't that spending, only small-govt conservatives.

Barnes also said that the whole foreign policy establishment was against invading Iraq, but Bush is a rebel for doing it anyway. Apparently, Barnes wasn't counting "The Project for a New American Century."

3. Barnes is Right
Bush is a REBEL...........That's what the Presidential Power Grab going on in DC is all about.

What else does a rebel do, but grab power.

6. But he's grabbing power on behalf of the powerful.
Usually, a rebel is someone who empowers the disenfranchsed.

8. Sorry, no
Robin Hood is a myth. Power is a strong drug that quickly overcomes the best of intentions. The problem with Bush is that he never had any good intentions to begin with when he took over.

He's a Rebel against the Rule of Law and the Balance of Power that makes the Constitution work.

5. Calling Newt Gingrich a "revolutionary," calling George W. Bush
a "rebel," expresssions from people who aren't frank enough to call them CORPORATE WHORES.
