Matthew 25: Jesus Will Send Right-Wing Pseudo-Christians to Hell
I was listening to Al Franken today and this Rev. was talking about Matthew 25 and how it contradicts most of what Republicans believe so I decided to google it and found this site.

1. They believe they ARE helping them
by building a bigger corporate society and creating jobs and such. In fact, I am sure they would point to other countries (somalia, many african countries actually, and so on) as being worse for the poor and needy than US.

What they do not see is that all problems are not self inflicted and that solutions in one place are not necessarily the best one in other places (and of course they ignore the whole god gave us earth thing so we best take care of it, and so on).

3. They don't understand that corporatism
depends on the exploitation of the poor. The elitist couldn't be that way if they saw to it the workers were paid fairly.

4. Exactly Right
People are encouraged to hoard way too much while others are dying of starvation or struggling to pay the bills after working two jobs. That is certainly not a system someone like Jesus would want.

2. I have just never had any luck arguing logic nor theology with fundies
My neighbors probably have a prayer chain going for me.
It *was* nice of them to collect funds to fit my house with smoke glass windows so they didn't have to see all the hanging goats, though!

5. I used that exact verse in my column last week
I was writing about the Bush budget and how it is so UNChristian. I live in the Bible belt, and often manage to tick off the locals with my very liberal writing. I think I'm particularly irritating when I am able to use Jesus' words to point out the hypocrisy of the Bush administration. I intend to continue irritating them as long as I can.
