Prosecutors' Sentencing Recommendation:Rep. Duke Cunningham
Prosecutors' Sentencing Recommendation:
Rep. Duke Cunningham
02-18-2006
Updated: 02-18-2006

Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham first won election to Congress in 1990 promising to be "a congressman we can be proud of". In the summer of 2005, he became enmeshed in wide-ranging bribery scandal. And on November 28th, 2005 pled guilty to charges of bribery and tax evasion. On February 17th, 2006, federal prosecutors submitted a 35 page "government's sentencing memorandum" detailing Cunningham's various bad acts in support of the government's request that he be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

4. If that is the maximum and he has been "aiding" the prosecution
He will probably only spend a year or so of actual time. Then out on house arrest...maybe even get a pardon from his buddy Bush*.

5. I am from San Diego and
Randy Cunningham is a TRAITOR plain and simple

Consider this. The Dukestir wasn't just a corrupt congressman taking bribes. He was taking bribes for defense contracts during war. He was cheating our military, our government, and the taxpayers. He illegally profited on the war.

7. Dukster's "Bribe Menu"
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 03:58 PM by kpete

Federal prosecutors say the“naked avarice” of Randy “Duke” Cunningham is displayed in this handwritten “bribe menu,” laying out successive amounts of government contracts that could be “ordered” and the amounts in bribes demanded in return.
