PETITION: Increase access to contraception; reduce need for abortion

NARAL

Americans are tired of divisive attacks on a woman's right to choose. That's why we're challenging our federal lawmakers to unify behind commonsense measures to prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce the need for abortion through our national Day of Action on March 7!

As part of the national Prevention First Challenge for Common Ground, we are asking our members of Congress to pass the Prevention First Act, which would increase funds for family-planning services, ensure contraceptive equity in health-insurance plans, and improve women's access to emergency contraception, among other things.

Sign our petition today!...

1. If insurance plans cover Viagra, they should cover women's prescription birth control. The Prevention First Act will guarantee equal insurance coverage for prescription birth control. Birth control is a basic health care need for many women in California and it should be treated that way by insurance companies.

2. Reduce the rate of teen pregnancy with commonsense prevention measures. The Prevention First Act gives young people access to accurate information and services to protect themselves against disease and unintended pregnancy.

3. Help boost women's awareness of the best-kept secret in birth control. The Prevention First Act will fund public education about emergency contraception. Also known as the "morning-after" pill, it can PREVENT pregnancy after unprotected sex, contraceptive failure, or sexual assault, but too few women know about it.

1. Done. Unfortunately, the GOP is against legal birth control
just like they're against abortion. That's the next battlefront, and the fight won't be to make it easier to obtain and safer to use, the fight will be to make the pill a controlled substance.

2. I say was get smart and change the framework of the issue
BIG TIME

The GOP spin masters do it. It's really not that difficult.

Contraception just needs a name change.

Anti-abortion procedures

Abortion avoidance _

Help me out here.
