If Letterman can call Les Moonves on the phone during the show and use him as a fall guy doesn't that show which one actually has the most clout at CBS? Do you think Leno could do that with the head of NBC? Or do you think O'Reilly could even get away with doing that to the secretary of the head of Faux?

Point is, let the freepers piss and moan all they want. It won't do em a bit of good. CBS needs Letterman a hell of a lot more than Letterman needs CBS.

Ed: Typo.

3. I have enjoyed Letterman's humorous jabs at the chimp but
tonight he really took a stand. It was as real as his emotional post-9-11 show and that's why he has my late night allegiance. Leno could not pull something like this off even he wanted to. Dave Letterman deserves our whole hearted support.

6. I'm sure Letterman saw the movie "Good Night & Good Luck"
and I'm sure Letterman doesn't mind standing up to a bully and blowhard.

7. Letterman could pull a Howard Stern if he wanted to as well
He could move his show to HBO. Shit, he could buy his own cable station at this point.
