6. St. Louis is in contention...along with 30 other cities.
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 07:32 PM by deadparrot
Do you have a source aside from speculation?

I don't know why they would. Our city isn't even...a city. It's in shitty shape, and what there is of it is dark blue.

9. Well we may be front-runners because...
Ladue and Clayton are BIG gopper-counties. Whenever Bush or Cheney show up here- they all gather at MICDS (Mary Institute/ Country Day School). I also believe there is a 1st cousin of the Bushes in Ladue.

Hey NYC was deep blue, right?

11. NYC also has (had) a Republican mayor.
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 07:42 PM by deadparrot
A moderate, yes, but a Republican nonetheless. St. Louis City hasn't had one of those for 70-80 years.

And the only logical place to have it would be downtown--America's Center, Edward Jones Dome, etc. I don't think there's anywhere large enough to house it in the counties. And downtown St. Louis is in pretty poor shape--certainly not up to Republican standards.

10. Good news for the Prostitutes of St Louis!
Unlike the Democratic Convention, where participants have no trouble getting laid without professional help, the Republican Convention is well known as being a Mecca for streetwalkers, strippers, and other sexworkers, particularly high-end call girls/boys and dominatrixes. Republicans are starved for sex, especially kinky sex, and will pay for the privilege when they are finally away from their spouse.

The sex workers do have two complaints about them though; They always try to negotiate the price down, and they have a general lack of hygiene usually cured by suggestion a shared shower as a warm-up for the other festivities.
