Welcome to the Saturday, 18 Feb Edition of the Most Brain Dead Letter To The Editor
This is dedicated to the those wonderful people who inspire us all by not only being incredibly stupid but also display their stupidity for all of us to gaze and wonder upon, in the LTTE sections of today's newspapers.
I have point out that they really go out of their way to give us a piece of their mind.
And because of this, these folks are some of the most generous people in the world, because no matter how little they have, they're always willing to give.
If there's one thing I've noticed about these brain dead fuckers who shoot out their minuscule greymatter all over the LTTE pages of the newspapers is that they love using fallacious arguments. It's like they're addicted to them. If you recognize these tactics, they stick out like a sore thumb.
It's pretty laughable to read this crap sometimes. I'm sitting there saying, "What a fucking idiot! That makes no sense at all." As happened today, when I checked out my paper, the Daily Press.
One of my neighbors, a Mr. Brooks A. Mick of Yorktown, Virginia really cut loose with the fallacies this time. I hate to see crap like this in my own homebase, but the thing that we should always remember is that idiots are EVERYWHERE.
Anyways, what I would like to do is point out what fallacy this fool uses when he does. I have used this handy-dandy list to point out some of the obvious problems this fool has while making a point:

http://www.dailypress.com/news/opinion/dp-72091sy0feb18,0,2268358.story?page=2&coll=dp-opinion-editorials Ben Franklin quote
Somebody always quotes Ben Franklin when discussing intelligence-gathering and terrorism:
(Ed. Fallacy Of The General Rule) Those who would give up freedom for security deserve neither. But that is a misquote of Franklin. Ol' Ben actually said: "Those who would give up an essential liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither."
(Ed. Appeal To Authority) For that quotation to apply to the present situation, one would have to define the right to receive phone calls from Osama bin Laden as an essential freedom, and one would have to define the prevention of nuclear or biological or chemical attacks on Manhattan or Chicago or Los Angeles as "a little temporary safety."
(Ed. Bad Analogy, Extended Analogy, Straw Man) Clearly, Franklin didn't have the current wrangling in mind when he made his statement. Clearly, given Franklin's own statements that one couldn't trust Congress with important secrets, President Bush's reluctance to spread sensitive info all around Congress is not only understandable but laudable. Clearly, the president is doing his best to protect American citizens.
(Ed. Ad Nauseum, Lies) The world appears to divide into two groups: The first understands that Muslim extremists want to destroy western civilization. The second hates George W. Bush. The first wants to find and destroy terrorists. The second wishes to give terrorists lawyers and psychiatrists. Take your pick which group you want to be in, and which group of politicians to vote for.
(Ed. Argument From Adverse Consequences (Appeal To Fear, Scare Tactics)) Brooks A. Mick
Yorktown
Brooks here hit the fallacy motherlode, didn't he? I know that there are more in there, so I left them for you to add. Have fun with it.
I might be wrong or incomplete, so give a brotha a hand, will ya?
This shit is fun, isn't it?
As always thanks, Brooks, you are an inspiration to us all. :yourock:
Here's a toast to your your dead brain, Scardeecat. :toast:
