So really, logic dictates it isn't "boomers" per se the neocons are railing against - it's the continuation of the same old tired attack against the "60's" and what right wingers see as the enemies of America (but what they actually mean is the enemies of their way of thinking)

But then, nothing new about right wing hypocrisy either.

And as long as there have been men and women, hate against women has been going on - and as long as there has been a woman's movement - hate against feminists has been going on.

Heard the same shit in the 80's about feminists. Heard it in the 70's as well. And you can take it to the bank that suffragettes heard the exact same shit.

Is it a scandalous tactic? Certainly. It's an appeal to the base (as in base nature) - to prejudice and ignorance.

But that doesn't make it "new" - well, OK - it might be "new" to some. In that event - welcome to world of right wing bullshit. It's depraved, it's recycled, it's depressing - but it ain't new.

So the right is using an old tactic to persue a continuing right wing cause - appeals to prejudice and ignorance to destroy social security.

It's not that I'm not bothered by the right's destructive behavior - it's just that I think it important to know that their tactics are nothing new - they've been attacking people and policy this way for years. It better helps to to counter their ignorance if you know the history of their ignorance.
