BREAKING NEWS

Updated: 3:14 a.m. ET Jan. 4, 2006

"TALLMANSVILLE, W.Va. - Family members of miners trapped in a West Virginia mine say only one of the 13 miners survived.

International Coal Group Chief Executive Officer Ben Hatfield told the families that only one miner, Randal McCloy, had survived the explosion.

Hatfield told the families gathered at the Sago Baptist Church that "there had been a lack of communication, that what we were told was wrong and that only one survived," said John Groves, whose brother Jerry Groves was one of the trapped miners.

At that point, chaos broke out in the church and a fight started. ..."

1. My sister says the one good thing with carbon monoxide
Is you just go to sleep. You don't lie there gasping for air. You drift off to sleep.

She would know, she has permanent liver damage from a monoxide leak in her building.

2. carbon monoxide
The hospital reported that the survivor had NO carbon monoxide poisoning. That is a bunch of huey. The rescue crew would not have reported people alive if that weren't the case. I personally believe that they were found alive but weren't able to sustain the trip out for some reason (poor resources for their needs)or something. The families were told that the minors would be brought to them at the church. Why would they say that if they knew (20 min. after initial report) that the miners were dead.

I DON"T BELIVE ANY OF THIS

5. note
Did you notice how Anderson Cooper was replaced really fast like with that other reporter? Cooper was asking the families questions and they were backing up what CNN had been reporting. They pulled him real quick like.

Don't let the truth come out or anything......that would be wrong.

7. Damn. I so wanted this to be a good story.
My fiance woke me at 1 a.m. to tell me they had found the other 12 alive.

Now, I wake up and I'm crest-fallen.

Shit.
