And the AOL message/chat boards were even worse, if that's possible. I kept thinking I'd stumbled into the "people from medieval times who are stuck in today's time" forums.

The last straw was right after the space shuttle Columbia disaster, when some drooling, scum-sucking, knuckle-dragging one-brain-celled freepus ignoramus posted that "the black man on board did it" because affirmative action and political pressure had caused all the "stupid inferior classes" to be able to get educations and rise into positions for which their "natural inferiority" had ill-prepared them, and they'd pushed out all of the "competent" people.

I had to read that about five times before I could actually comprehend that that was what I'd read, then I fully expected a torrent of denials. What I got instead were agreements, and "right-ons, I'm sick of PC and these people are destroying our country", etc., etc. Obviously, that was fucking IT for me, and I've never, ever looked back. Fortunately, I discovered DU shortly after that.

which is obviously Islamic and all I got was pure hate. Funniest thing about it was that a lot of the posters assumed I was black and inserted racist remarks as well as bigoted remarks against Islam. I wonder if these posters ever try and learn something about another culture, faith, or race before they start shooting off their mouths. They appear to be rather unhappy; if they learned some tolerance, they might find more peace of mind.

I've come to the conclusion that we have no chance at all. If you have the stomach and above average ability to read bad phonetics, check it out and tell me if these people should be allowed to roam the streets without supervision. How do they manage to find food and not forget to breathe?
