Global Warming/Environmental issues will be the BIG issue in Election 08
the MSM is really starting to notice...and it's strange how all this coverage is coming at the end part of the winter- almost as if they're expecting/hoping for(?) BIG things from mother nature this summer.

1. If you're right, there is only ONE potential candidate who stands out
from the herd.

Al Gore

15. You should have heard the woman that was on earlier...
She was talking about polar bears and what serious trouble they're in and how polluted they are and that with thinning food sources are resorting to cannibalism. Made my heart sink. So much so, that it is this issue (the environment) that I will pay most attention to from here on in.

16. Welcome to Bushworld.
The criminal element is running things, and the psychopaths are running the other criminals. Narrow self-interest and short-term hedonism have been elevated to the highest of positions among the virtues.

10. it's really REALLY sad to think about the last 8 years in that context-
too bad there won't be historians left in another few hundred years-
to say "...coulda, woulda, shoulda."

2. I don't think anyone is 'hoping' for big things to happen this summer,
but think it's inevitable. What does it say when this admin squashes opinions from scientists? (Al Gore in his speech first made me aware of this) That's a major issue that needs to be addressed IMO.

7. The employees of all the corp. networks have families and they
too have to live somewhere. I just don't think they're 'wishing' for it, though they have to cover it.
Gawd knows there's enough dangerous drama going on in this world that they'll never run out of stories if they choose to cover them.

5. As I was shoveling 4 inches of snow in a thunderstorm..

in Michigan in mid February, while tornado sirens were going off in
Indiana..
it occurred to me that those of us in the more temperate
climes have long considered ourselves immune from
extreme weather events.
with 2' of snow in NY last week, crippling ice storm in
my state this week, building major storm in the
south next week..
maybe the wake-up call is well underway.....

12. actually, even if it had been the BIG issue in '00-
it probably still would have been too late.

9. You are right only if another Katrina happens and W drops the ball again
If the misadministration somehow manages to do even as good as a half-a**ed job (likely if Florida is hit, 'cause of JEB) W will be lauded as a great, dyunamic leader who "learned" from his mistakes by the MSM...and the Dems as "negative" pols who never have a plan...:puke:

But I can only hope that 1, it doesn't happen, and 2, if it does, people realize that they have to rely on their own community and families to save them as no-one else will. And get the heck out of the places before all heck breaks loose. And I KNOW some folks don't have that option, but I can hope that people will help each other.

17. Absolutely, I second that. I have been telling people that too.
Nothing else matters. It's THE issue. That's why I have this feeling about Gore.

18. if you have access to LinkTV- they just had a GREAT special w/Gore-
giving a speech recently on global warming. It was on 4 times yesterday, but i don't know when/if it will be repeated...i'm making a few tapes(and hopefully dvd's) to distribute to friends- pm me your address to my du mailbox if you're interested, and i'll send you a copy(although it may be 2 weeks or so).

i think he'll be IT in 2008 too- watching the special and thinking what could have been, and what could have been averted, if only truth, justice and the american way had prevailed in 2000...hopefuly- if theoretical physicists are right, there's an alternate/parallel universe out there where things were set right, electionwise, and the earth is in balance.
