Poll question: What percent of public has to disagree with War before pols listen?
The same could be said of any corporate friendly policy.

Probably a bipartisan majority of Americans thought trade agreements like NAFTA are bad, but pols ignored that too.

Is there a critical mass when pols will fear the public more than corporate donors?

1. The politicians will never listen the wishes of the people. They
always follow their own self interest. If the peoples wishes happen to coincide with the politicians' self interest, it is purely coincidental....

3. It is more of a level of criticality
composed of a percentage of opposition, a level of outcry, and a degree to which it is a threat to their own continued incumbency.

4. I think they have another agenda then what they say they are doing -
both parties. If the economy really will tank if oil is sold in euros or our standard of living will collapse because there is no oil - who in Washington will be the ones to inform We the People? Both parties have helped destroy our country. The repubs did try harder though.

5. Close to 80 percent
Even then though they'll still call those the "fringe" of the Democratic Party.

6. Dems are a perfect sad example: DLC leads even though they appeal to
no one except a handful of business interests.

7. I say they won't listen until they are being chased out of office

But I'm not sure about that even, I mean for the most part the assholes in control, and their enablers don't really give a shit, they might have a change of heart if they are being chased out of office, but I won't hold my breath.
