THe ports aren't being sold. And if you argue that, you're going to get dismissed as someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. What is happening, and is a matter of legitimate concern, is that the company that currently holds the contracts to manage the ports is being purchased by a UAE-owned company. There is good reason to carefully scrutinze whether continuation of the contracts under this new ownership is appropriate, but if I was on the other side and someone said why do I support selling the ports, I could easily answer them and, in so doing, undermine their credibility.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: we need to be smarter than the other side and we have to show that we know what we're talking about. Otherwise, we lose.
