Today is President's Day. We need a Criminal's Day for balance.
About 35 years ago, Washington's and Lincoln's birthdays were combined. This ensured that the unwashed masses and school children got one day off rather than two. The theft of of this extra little holiday was initiated by our "I am not a crook" president, Richard Nixon.

To commemorate this theft, I propose the establishment of a new National holiday called Criminal's Day. And of course we'd have to include our current gangster-in-chief, George W. Bush. Yeah, I know their birthday's fall six month's apart, but they share the common goal of destroying the Constitution.

This holiday could be celebrated by cheating, lying, stealing, pillaging and plundering, as well as the invasion of some country or other. (Given our limited resources, we'd better stick with someplace small like Lichtenstein or Monaco.)

In any case, give it some thought. A day to honor our best, and a different day to spit on our worst, might start bringing some sort of cosmic balance back to our little corner of the universe.

1. Ok good and let's commemorate the day as being the day that we the
people take up a collection and buy our own six ports that are currently pending sale to the United Arab Emirates.

3. Now wouldn't that just take the cake! Me too!
Sell the damn thing and live in a tent on the shoreline! No, seriously! I think a national campaign to show this bitch just how down on him America really is would gain some public trust in we the people!

5. It occurred to me that a single "Criminal's Day" wouldn't satisfy wingnuts
They would probably demand two separate three-day weekends for Nixon and Bush.

And since Reagan was born in February, they'd probably want to do away with President's Day and establish Ronald Reagan Month. Everyone would be required to daily wake up pledging allegiance to the flag, singing the Star Spangled Banner, and, worst of all, watching old Reagan movie reruns.
