Suppose that one day, company XYZ Pharmaceuticals, Ltd, received some bad news, the new product had failed the trials.

Suppose that the VP in charge of the development in Germany called the CEO in America.

Suppose that conversation was picked up by the NSA.

Suppose the information was passed on to someone who owned stock in company XYZ Pharmaceuticals, Ltd.

Suppose he rushed to his broker with a sell order on that stock.

Far-fetched and very hypothetical?

On the other hand, is there a bottom on how low anyone in this administration will go to make a buck?

1. needle in a haystack. why not just tap democratic opponents?

tapping top democrats or key democratic opponents is just about the ONLY explanation that makes any sense. small group, you can tap and monitor over time. this needle in a haystack fishing expedition crap is a red herring at best, it's rather idiotic to think you can find a terrorist plot just by searching for farsi conversations, especially when EVERYBODY talks about 9/11, terrorism, wmds, etc.
