I mean, damn, the FBI can track just about anything that we as Americans do on the Internet, why can't the international community decipher some info on the source for these tapes that get posted online?

If it's an Al-Jazeera anonymous source issue, then that's one thing, but if the US had an actual interest in locating the source, we would find it in a heartbeat.

1. Homeland Security is too busy sending agents to
public libraries so they can see if people are viewing porn on public computers.

8. a few weeks after 9/11~
~NEW YORK, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- A few weeks after 9/11, Newsweek has learned, Vice President Dick Cheney worried that he and his family and his staff might have been exposed in an anthrax attack. According to knowledgeable former officials, a mysterious letter turned up at the vice president's mansion. (A former senior law-enforcement official recalled that sensors went off.) The alarm turned out to be false. Still, to be safe, Cheney and his entourage began taking Cipro, the powerful antibiotic. The story was hushed up. (Cheney's office referred Newsweek to the Secret Service, which declined to comment.) In the February 27 Newsweek cover story, "Cheney's Secret World,"~

11. From Iran.
Because that's where OBL lives. That's something the White House/Pentagon doesn't want Americans to know. Why? Because Bush and Co. have stated over and over again they would go after anyone (nation) that harbors terrorists. So why doesn't Bush take on Iran? Because he's scared shitless of the outcome.

21. Iran is too much for them,
especially in light of the Iraq fiasco. Iran is a can of worms I believe they do not want to open, not even to get OBL. Too many unknown variables, namely how it would effect the '06 and '08 elections. While the WH may not care about winning a war, they (the GOP) do care about winning elections.

14. Good point
Supposivley these are old though from 1995 aren't they? If that's true how could he know about Bush unless he's talking about Poppy? But try to find the film "Loose Change." In it they talk about the video they "found" in Afghainstan and they show what's wrong with the video such as he writes with the opposite hand he is according to the FBI.

Bin Laden Vows Never to Be Captured Alive

By STEVEN R. HURST, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 26 minutes ago

CAIRO, Egypt -
Osama bin Laden vowed never to be captured alive and said the U.S. military had become as "barbaric" as
Saddam Hussein in an audiotape reposted on a militant Islamic Web site after first being broadcast last month.

In the tape posted to the Web site Monday, bin Laden offered the United States a long-term truce but also said his al-Qaida terror network would soon launch a fresh attack on American soil. The tape was initially broadcast Jan. 19 on Al-Jazeera, the pan-Arab satellite channel.

Islamic militant Web forums often repost messages from al-Qaida leaders to ensure sympathizers can see them. U.S. intelligence officials confirmed that last month's tape was of bin Laden — making it his first message in more than a year.

15. Government authorities can be awfully inept when it suits them
They can't find the origin of the Bin Laden tapes, just as they never could catch the "right wing death squads" that terrorized the populations of El Salvador and Guatemala in the 1980s.
