Why must the Democrats announce their solutions now?
If any good ideas come out of the mouths and minds of our Democratic leaders now, those ideas will be jumped upon by the repugs and touted as "their" message. Yes, we do need action on major issues and we need loud protest from our Dem. leaders. But a Formal plan? Perhaps there is one lurking but I think I'd rather see it closer to the 2006 elections. Now would be too early. The law-breaking and arrogance of this administration must be brought to light. I don't think we should tell them how we plan to smooth things out and make their life better. I think I take it on faith that we, as a party are addressing this administrations blunders and will announce our plan to address the many out of control situations in a manner that will best help us. Let **** and his cronies hang in the wind now. I feel the rope is getting tighter for them, I don't think we should loosen it.

1. Only because that is what the republicans say we're suppose to do
They need to beat it into their sheeple that if we don't offer the president a plan to steal and announce as his own prior to 2006, then we are the one's being weak. The republicans are all tactics, no substance.

3. Bingo!
Sure...a winning team shows it's game plan to the opposition before the teams take the field. Yeah, right.

The problem isn't having solutions, it's where to start.

2. disagreed.
Having a positive plan of our own on the table now won't loosen the noose around the GOP (which keeps getting loosened anyway). Besides, they'll jump on any plan of ours no matter when we announce it. I'd rather have a good sharp plan together and beat that drum from now until November.

a) get communicated to the public, and . . .

6. Takes accurate info to know how bad things are before you can fix them
The GOP and their unitary executive branch don't allow that.

And any solutions DEMs have offered (based on what little actually information they get) which resonates with the public immediately gets usurped by the junta and repackaged as THEIR idea. This is done while the DEM offering the suggestion gets Swift-boated.

Hmmm, all the good ideas are theirs and the bad ones they blame on someone else. They are all a bunch of irresponsible and excuse making drunks!

5. Maybe so the
idea that Democrats have some good ideas will have time to percolate through the electorate. Maybe so that the uncommitted and uninterested at this time voter will see and hear something besides "Bush BAD!" coming out of the mouths of Democratic leaders. This way he will be prepared to consider the ideas on the merits, and will have time to do so.

Mainly, though, so that Democrats will have time to come together on the message and quit stabbing each other in the back a la Hackett.

As for the Repubs "stealing" our ideas, let 'em. If they're good ideas then it really doesn't matter who gets them in. And we'll still get the credit because our Representatives and Senators will be pushing them too.
