Dick Cheney told the truth in 2004 regarding port secutiy!
"If we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again - that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States." - Dick Cheney, Sep 7, 2004

In a purely unrelated story, the Bush Administration has decided to sell control of 6 major US ports to the United Arab Emarites.

Individual rights should be protected. This is about an Arab company taking over port security. Does that make good sense to you?

No way to spin this one, is there?

6. It is a little bit more then that
1) Actual container operations - lifting the containers off of the ships, putting the containers in "temporary storage" and then transferring them to the land carrier.

2) Security perimeter.

3) Hiring the "Long Shoremen"

4) Customs brokerage.

5) Coast Guard, Dept of Agriculture, Customs, DEA, EPA "enforcement."

Just to name a few.

Been there, done that in the Port of New Orleans ---

Coast Guard Port Security Officer Badge

Earned it --- wore it.
