How active are you locally?
Are YOU willing to run in 2006/2007 for local elected office?

It's up to YOU and YOU alone.

Answer yourself this question: if you have come to discontent with leadership, what are YOU doing to change the status quo of politics locally, what are YOU going to do to change it?

I see so many individuals crying out for a leader, yet very few willing to lead. How about YOU?

Precinct Chairperson, Town Council, County Legislature, think globally, yet act locally.

I mean not to condescend nor to offend. This comes from a place which is very sincere and quite serious, without an ounce of rhetorical value to any of it.

It's up to US folks!

2. Best of luck to you!
I am running in 2007 for the next (of two) Town Council positions that will open up.

I am glad to see that others around me agree that a responsible course of action must be to build a framework from the bottom up locally.

Best of luck!

3. I am a precinct chair.
I am also on the training committee of our local DFA chapter. Together we have already trained over 200 activists in our town.

And RIGHT ON to you! We all have to be prepared to make some changes, give up some internet time one night a week, get a little bit out of our comfort zone, and just do it. I didn't know anything about local party politics before 2004.

6. Kudos to you gunsaximbo!
Where might you be running? Throw a little out there about yourself and perhaps you may find those volunteers right here at Democratic Underground.

Best of luck to you!

7. [www.seera06.com] Dennis Hastert Territory - the wild west - where...

Repugnants fire you for being non republican. I had a Christian lunatic wish I would die because I told her I was a liberal.

Her husband told me I am a heathen (or something like it - I don't remember exactly) because I told him I was a Catholic and pro choice. Strangely enough - they both signed my petition to run for office though. (I used to be in sales).

I had a car load of women circling me in a parking lot yelling / chanting "George W" when ever I was talking to someone about the issues and having them sign my petition.

It's really terrible here. The News papers ONLY print republican issues. ONLY give space to republicans and never print a Democrats letter to the editor.

That is why I need help and every local Liberal Candidate needs help - as much as they can get. There cannot be too much help.

Thanks for your time,

Gunsaximbo / Joe Serra

9. DanCA
You need to PM DanCA. He's in DC right now with the Parkinson's Convention. He's from Illinois, part of the Illinois Parkinson's delegation I think. Anyway, Hastert won't even meet with them. They need some help making this a big big deal in Illinois. I think it's shameful. I gave him the url's of the two primary Dems in Hastert's District, but nothing like a little unity on an issue, particularly when Hastert can be beat up a bit in the process.
